Proper alternator amperage?

Proper alternator amperage?
Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me. I need to replace the alternator on my 2002 Chrysler Voyager 2.4 liter. My vehicle has radio, a/c, casette deck, but no power windows or doors or anything else that draws power other than the standard stuff. When I look up replacement alternators for my make and model, I get some alternators that are 90 amp and some that are higher. My question is, will the 90 amp be sufficient? I'd rather spend as little as possible because I don't expect I'll own it much longer, but I don't want to buy the 90 amp, have it installed, and then have problems with it. I assume it's ok, or they wouldn't be offering it as a replacement for my make and model, but I'd like to hear from the experts, so let me know what you think! Thanks, this forum is great; I've been luking here for a while but just regiustered today.

RE: Proper alternator amperage?
why do u think u need an alternator??? in 11 year i have only replaced 2 that really had an issue with charging. SO i would say with 99% certanty that ist not an alternator. What is your prob ne way?

RE: Proper alternator amperage?
Hi Chrysler Tech, thanks for your speedy reply! I have been told by 2 knowledgable mechanics, including one that is a lifelong friend, that I have a bad alternator, so I assumed they are correct. They each did some kind of test, but I'm not sure what. The battery light keeps coming on and my battery is being drained while the vehicle runs, to the point of complete lack of power if I don't charge regularly. The battery is fine, we know that for sure.Could it be something else?
