Default Radiator Fan Dead

on my 06 3.8 the rad fan suddenly stopped working last week.... condenser fan works as it should... are both fans on one relay ? do u think that one fan could be bad ? does not overheat but gauge does climb to halfway at idle...used to never get to halfway so thats when i checked ...letting van idle for 20 minutes condenser fan worked as should...temp gauge went to halfway and stayed there, but radiator fan never kicked on... thanks

. Mine's a 2.8CRD but believe the fan circuits are similar, three relays controlling two fans ! oops - slightly different diagram attached from manual (don't trust the manual too much !). check if you have voltage across the fan

ok so after diggin into this yesterday i took a chance on one fan being bad and one relay controlling both... seems i was right... installed new dual fans and both work...albeit VERY loud... and......but......a/c condenser fan turns opposite rad fan thereby blowing air out instead of pulling it in... weird... back to advance today and a redo.. thanks for input

yep... u r correct but i swapped out for another complete assy anyway and all good now... both pulling air in as should and this new one is MUCH quieter... first was wired wrong from factory as each fan is supposed to spin opposite for some reason thus the reason the blade pitch on each are different.... weird but ok now....thanks
