Hi all,

Just recently acquired a 2012 Town and Country and had tons of issues with the head unit, so replaced it with a nice Alpine with CarPlay support and has worked fantastic. One item that became even more clear (actually not clear) was the back-up camera. It was unusable with the factory headunit but that display was overly dim and blurry anyway. However now with a crystal clear high res display, the backup camera is still rather dull, blurry, etc and I believe the outer lens coating is etched much like the headlights. This leads me to my question - the OEM replacement cameras are tremendously expensive considering their very low resolution. Has anyone retrofitted an aftermarket camera into these T&C that provide a more modern featureset (higher res, better dusk/night view, etc)? If I'm going to spend $300+ I'd love to get something better than 2012 tech - and would love to learn from what others have done.
