Wondering if there is an affordable source for new upholstery and carpeting and if it's an easy DIY job. I'm trying to help my mom sell her 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE but the only response I've gotten in the past month is "Rolling JUNK YARD!!!!!!!!"
Can't say I disagree, it looks pretty bad. She removed it because of mold issues and put duct tape all over the ceiling.

 

I would find a crashed voyager at the scrapyard if I where you. You will never get it as good as with original parts.

 

I know a bit about selling second-hand cars, been at it for over fifty years! I've had something like a hundred cars of my own, can't even remember some.

1st. law of selling cars:--
The more it looks like it just rolled out the factory, the quicker it'll sell and the more money you'll get for it.

2nd law of selling anything -- "Eye appeal is BUY appeal".

3rd. law of selling anything -- "Make it easy to buy". Have the 'phone number of a finance house ready if it's heavy money, have the number of one of those instant seven day insurance companies ready for instant driveaway. That last one clinched the deal when my daughter bought a Vauxhall Vectra-matic from a dealer. Drove there in her beat-up old Punto, drove away one hour later in the Vauxhall, all legal.

Have you checked out the value of a 1998 model in fair condition? It may not be co$t effective to replace the carpet$, seat$ and headliner.

 

It may be cost effective if you strip a scrapyard car for a hundred bucks, replace the ceiling/floor and sell the car for a few hundred bucks more, but if you count the time you have to put in it will never be profitable.

Maybe it's a lot easier to remove the chairs in the back and the ductape and just glue some cheap thin grey carpet to the ceiling and sell it as a cargo van.

 

My upholstery nowhere near this but it has peeled off where the wind screen and roof join. What product can I use to stick it back on please
