T&C 2006 LIMITED - DVD problem
Hi all
I'm new here and new T&C owner. I have a problem with my DVD player (CD changer). Salesman told my that DVD doesn't work at all, but I didn't believe and tried to figure out what is wrong :) I took off front panel to get to the DVD wires and as I thought DVD wasn't connected at all. So I connected DVD to the car and.... that's right... not so easy... DVD stated to freak out... oh see yourself on the video Have you any idea what is wrong with this player? Is this repairable? |

Thanks AlanC! How finally did you solve the problem?
|
I fitted one of these 12.1" Car Drop Down Roof DVD/TV Player Monitor | eBay but connected the audio outputs from that unit into the phono inputs on the Chrysler unit. So I can have the movie soundtrack playing through the Chrysler speakers or use the Chrysler wireless headphones.

Yhm, so I have to try fix my, because I'm more interested in CD changer than on dvd itself

If your's has the same problem as mine, i.e. plastic gear lost some of it's teeth, I'm not sure that it can be repaired, even if you can find a replacement gear. The construction of the unit is so complex you would need specialist skills to disassemble and reassemble.
My solution to using multiple music CD's is to use an MP3 player with it's audio outputs connected into the two audio inputs on the face of the Chrysler unit. That of course means having power to the Chrysler unit and a) putting up with the 6 flashing LED's, b) sticking some tape over the 6 LED's or c) trying to disconnect the 6 LED's internally. Or you could buy an aftermarket CD changer but you may/will have problems getting the audio signal to play through the Chrysler sound system. Lots of threads on this forum regarding those difficulties. A lot of Chrysler audio systems send a digital data signal to the amplifier, not a conventional analogue audio signal. |
So you're saying that even though the changer does not work (because some cds were stuck inside) audio inputs in DVD still working and I can connect e.g my phone?
|
2 Attachment(s)
Yes, the audio and video inputs on the front of the unit will still work.
After connecting an audio source, you may need to use the Mode button to select that input. |
Thanks AlanC you made my day. Honestly I was most interest these inputs not changer. Today I'll try to connect my phone and play music from Spotify, but first I have to buy proper wire.

Let us know how you get on. Not sure what part of the world you are in but a suitable cable shouldn't be too difficult to get hold of.
