Default T&C 2008 poor gas milage?

Is it just my van that get 10-11 mpg city are they all like that? When questioned my dealer when service oil changes, the service writer says, "That's about right" . With the prices of gas in Hawaii at near $4 What can I do?

You should be getting a bit better than that. Check the usual suspects, tire pressure, worn tires, spark plugs, air filter etc. A bad O2 sensor can also dump your MPG, but I doubt it with your 2008.

tires and pressure would be the only thing relevant plugs are 100k and an o2 sensor being out of range would turn on a check engine light as I said depends on teh driver and its a big van.

10 - 11 MPG is NOT normal (it's not THAT big a van). I've had 5 Chrysler Corp. mini-vans and never got that bad MPG's. I can't say I've gotten near what they put on sticker either

My current one is an '05 T&C Limited with the 3.8L and I average 15 -17 MPG (depending on A/C usage, I live in AZ).

Last one was an '05 T&C LX with 3.3L (stolen last year , who the heck steals a mini-van??) It got slightly worse MPG.

I would not accept the dealers answer on that especially not if you bought it new. Start going up the chain till you get someone to listen. Also start documenting your fuel purchases and mileage at time of fill if you aren't already doing so.

one also big difference is Hawaii has a few more hills then AZ that makes a difference how some one drives makes a difference stop and go driving makes a difference if there was something out of norm the computer would see excessive use of fuel and put out a rich code.

Hawaii is not exactly highway driving and if they have roof racks with kayaks or surfboards on top it will knock their MPG as well.

Default Mahalo (thank you) for all you input

Oahu, the island I live on is not exactly flat but will travel over to the other side of the island just once and back in a month. A 3/4 tank of gas will last me 7-8 days, I do not drive much. I have been diligent about keeping my tires at 35 lbs and the millage has always been low since new. My family doesn't surf so lets rule that out LOL. Living here, my A/C is on constantly. Again thank you all for you input.

Default $4.48 for premium gas here in Hawaii

and I am still getting 10-11 MPG!
Is there anything I can tell my Chrysler Dealership Service Center to check on in my VAN???

If I didn't have 2 more years of extended warranty, I would KISS this gas guzzler good-bye. With only 16K total miles, that's less than 2K miles per year.

With front & back brake jobs at 9K, with 2 rotors replaced, I wonder when my brakes will be going again.
