Track rod ends and rack ends. Are they easy to replace
Off work for 2 weeks and my brother in law is going to help me. Garage quoted me £230
Thinking of doing it myself, is it easy or best left to proffesionals
Any tips to make the task easier

Try and make it simple as my Broadband goes. See track 1 & 2 these aid in keeping your tracking right or how it was. But lock disc to hub with nut so it does not wobble. I used Aluminium u bar with masking tape inside wheel well. Loosen ball joints with separator or one or two hammers.
Oh and got mine from Jeep Chrysler parts about £25 the pair.

Count the turns of treads off, and same number of turns on gets you to the same place they were before you started. So assuming the tracking and toe-in was correct before you started - that's how you should finish. Or yellow marker paint it or white tape round it or measure with a ruler or Goggsy trick etc - they all work. Best of luck.
Qinteq and Goggs thanks for your helpful suggestions. Mind the time i went to have alignment done and steering was squint after. The boy looked it again and then said i had a buckled alloy which i have since replaced and car still continued to feel wobbly. Took it to 2 different Farmers garages and an independent who suggested my rod ends and track rods neeeded replaced
Could it be maybe the whole system is not system is not right from when the guy tried to do my alignment before. Before that steering was nicely centred. Is it possible maybe it just needs tightened or something

It's an easy job. First up clean up the whole area around the track rod locking nut and threads with a wire brush, clean all the crap off and soak with plus gas or similar.
Crack the lock nut a little, then whiz off the ball joint lock nut, you may find it easier with a rattle gun, as sometimes the ball will turn with the nut, meaning the nut will just spin.
When the nut's off separate the taper using a ball joint tool or splitting wedge.
Wind off the old part, counting the threads . Grease the threads with anti-seize & screw on the new part, the same number of turns should take you back to the locknut (as long as you only cracked it a tiny bit)
Then push the taper into the steering hub and bolt it all back up.
It will take you about half an hour per side if all goes well.
I would 100% recommend you to get the alignement done afterwards. I've done this a few times and every time, even though I've been careful the tracking has been way out !!
