What would be the best way to go about this to save money?Can i buy a new one already programed?Id rather do this my self like most things.

 

master tech that info is not correct the NGC compter was not iinstalled untill 03. 01 and 02 RS still have SBEC computers.
AS for the pin number only a dealer can program the skim key into a PCM u need the secret key from DCX to do so.

 

So this is something i should pay to have done? What do you recomend CHRYSTLER TECH?

 

Also my trans guy wants 550 total for the job is that a good price?

 

Anyone? Would a used computer be ok from the same year/engine from the junk yard?

Its pcm. What do you mean dealer only? How come my trans guy can do it? Why wont a used one work?

hey tony.what the dealer has to do is transfer you skim key #in to the new controller.once the code goes into the conrtoller it the transfers all your cars data over to new tcm.like vin and milage.you can only do this once.thats why a junk yard controller won't work. it already has a vin number in from the car its coming from. the price sounds like good and it should take about a 1/2 hour to complete.hope this helped.moe
