Default Transmission Flush Recommendations

I just purchased a 2005 T&C Touring in January with 30k on it and love it. I recently had it to the dealer for an oil change and they HIGHLY recommended a trans flush since it has over 30k on it. I know the manual calls for a fluid/filter change at 60k. I asked them about that and they said that with their experience, they recommend the flush every 30k with what they've seen come through the shop. Prior to this recommendation I was planning on just doing the standard fluid/filter change at 60k and have it done by the dealer the first time since I have the 7/70 warranty. After the warrantyran out I planned on doing it myself. Now I'm not sure what I want to do. I'm well aware of issues with older model transmissions, but I'm not sure where the new one stands as far as reliability. If I must pay out $150every 30k for a flush to keep it living, I'll do it, but that seems a little excessive. However, I also don't want to find myself forking over $2000 either. I wanted to see what the thoughts were in here. Thanks foryour advise!

I have always done fluid filter changes at approx. 30K intervals. On my 2000 GC which now has 123K, I did a flush using a BG machine at a dealer at 80K. If you actually have a dealer wanting to flush every 30k, I would start looking for another dealer. My 06 T&C only has about 10K on it, so no trannie fluid stuff done yet. Make sure you use the correct fluid as specified in the owner's manual. When I do the fluid change I try to time it so it is done at the end of the hot weather for the the year, going into fall.

Stretch,

So what PM type/schedule are you planning on doing with your 06?

Transmission Fluid/filter every 30K or so
Oil/Filter 3K
Coolant drain, refill @ 2 years and every other year after.

I also had the brake fluid flushed at 99K on my 2000. They had to do the rears twice, fluid was real gunky there.
