I have never done your specific box but have done numerous others including the manual one on my 2.5TD. Typically one takes up the slack on the inner cv ( pul on it until the snap ring halts further travel) then with a pry bar or even large screwdriver between the gear housing and inner CV housing give it a sharp whack. This normally compresses the inner ring and allows the CV to pop out.
