Default Voyager Rev Counter Illumination !!!???

Hi,

I have a 2001 2.5 CRD Grand Voyager. Recently the rev counter started some illumnation problem when the headlights were switched on. When Idling or low revs the needle would not show any illumination. However when the revs are increased, the needle gets gradually brighter until them same as all the other dials. No other dash lights are affected at all - just the rev counter needle. Is this common or maybe an earthing problem. Obviously this does not affect the driving - just annoying !!!!!

Any ideas or similar probs encountered ?

Thanks
Dave
