Question Blown out Freon?

Hello all,
I charged my ac system to manufactures spec about 3 months ago since I have not had ac since I bought this cirrus 3 years ago. It was bought with a non functioning system.
After it was charged it worked well and was ice cold for about a month. One day I was sitting at idle at a stop and suddenly a large plume of smoke (Freon?) blew out my dash vents and it hasn't worked since. I do believe that something let go and that it was Freon but does anyone have an idea of what would have let go? Would it be something in the dash?

Thanks for any advice.
