09 Chrysler Sebring convertible limited , you can hold the peddle to the floor and it might go to 3 then falls ! Why? We have changed the throttle body twice , camshaft position sensor, map sensor, another sensor and a new fuel pump . Took it to 2 shops that said the only code they got what is the ambient air sensor and drove it said it ran fine . We get it home and it has sat because it’s not safe . It’s my 19 year old daughters car who works nights at fed ex in Memphis and you can’t drive the interstate at 20 we are an hour away . Anybody 🤪

How does it drive? Some computers don't allow racing of the engine in neutral.

decotter0579 nailed it. The ECM will limit the rpms to about 2500 when in park or neutral; prevents accidental redlining and toasting the motor.

What problem are you trying to solve? Car won't go over 20 mph? Happens all the time; shop indicated it ran fine? Possible clogged catalytic converter? Check engine light on? How many miles?

Well we had all the codes po 123 ,po 073 ,po 340, po 339 , po 344 . Changed all those except the ambient air sensor. Then we change the throttlebody twice thinking maybe we had a bad throttlebody we also put a new fuel pump in . When she was driving it hone and it died the man that’s driveway she pulled it said her fuel pump went out and that he was a master mechanic . It was the last thing we changed thinking maybe it was cutting in and out. We took it back to the shop yesterday and they said it was probably because we used auto zone parts. So ? Her grandpa got her this when she graduated and she loves it even though the top has never worked . So ????? I guess we’ll see how much they charge us for everything we have changed but it was messed up before we changed anything and they said it was fine before and sat for 3 weeks trying to figure it out. Yesterday we just gave up and took it back . Haven’t heard anything yet😤😭

It drove fine but if you come to a stop sign or light it wants to stall unless you don’t really stop. We towed it the first two times . Because it keep shutting off or trying to but when
we got on the highway it was fine .go figure. I just want her safe . I don’t want her breaking down on the interstate at night in Memphis. I like and love her a little bit 😆

Which motor - 2.4l, 2.7l, or 3.5l? Does it restart after it stalls - never, sometimes, always? Is the check engine lamp on while the engine is running? Do you recall the the actual p-code diagnostic code? What is the age/condition of the battery; chrysler's do not tolerate weak/low voltage.

Yes it will restart now after we changed everything , but still has some hesitation . It’s an 09 limited convertible. The battery is less than a year old we got it last year so we didn’t check that not sure the motor

The engine light is still on for the ambient air sensor but that’s it both shops said the same thing that’s all that came up. It’s at the second shop we took it to still no call. They just told us it was probably the auto zone parts , it was doing worse before we changed the things we did.

I have found that oem/mopar sensors are best; have had too many issues with auto part store brands.

If your motor is the 2.7l, the crankshaft position has been know to cause random stall issues (it is also responsible for misfire detection). Again oem is important. I would also replace the camshaft position sensor with oem.
