01 Sebring problem
I have a 01 sebring convertible (2.7L v6 86k miles) lately its had this issue where it starts and drives fine, UNTIL it hits its operating temp. Which is when it starts kinda...jerking. Then it dies. Wont run again until its cooled down. It wont die if i press the gas though but its an aweful drive at that point. Additiinally it appears to be slighty leaking oil from the bottom (oil pan?) Which makes a light smoke from the burned oil. Any ideas would helo, thanks. -Evan

For the oil leak, you probably will need to replace the oil pan gasket. Get a Haynes manual to guide you through that process. There's a photo album on the site here that discusses getting the crossover pipe out, which is not covered by the shop manual.
As for the poor running problem, it might be a bad connection on the motherboard of the engine computer. When the board expands, it loses the connection. Are there any codes showing up using the "key dance"? Key on, off, on, off, on. (not starting the engine). Codes will appear in the odometer space.
If you have to replace the engine computer, search the internet for services that will sell you a replacement on an exchange basis. You send them about $200 and your vin and odometer reading and they send you a computer that plugs right in. They give you a return label to send back the old one. Don't bother trying to just plug in a junkyard computer, it won't work. The exchange computer worked for me when mine went bad. Eight years later, it's still working.

Welcome to the forum. In the future, if you have a new question, post it up on a new thread, rather than jumping in on an old unrelated thread. You should also post in the Section related to your car, in this case a Sebring, to get the best chance at a response.
