Default 2006 Town & Country Radio/6 disc dvd

I have a 2006 Town and Country that has had the radio withsat (replaced twice) and the 6 disc DVD player replaced under warranty. Now that we have just passed the warranty mileage limit (36,000) our DVD player has developed another new problem. The sound will not play for CD's or DVD's but we will have a picture most of the time on the flip down. The radio display shows the scene count/timer going like nothing is wrong. I know the DVD is rotating and the selection and eject buttons work fine on the dvd player.

I'm just wondering if anyone has had this problem and knows of the solution.I am pretty technical so I would try and figure things out with some help before paying $100 an hour to Chrysler. They have the wires dragging over some pretty sharp metal supports but I don't see any breaks.

I've been very disappointed with the vehicles overall durability and am looking to save a buck if possible. The vehicle has only 39,000 milles, been well maintained but has required several engine sensors, rusted out rear door repaired, tie rod replaced, headlight and various other light bulbs replaced and electric sliding door issues. I can't wait for what happens at 50,000 miles.

Thanks for listening, I feel better...send me the bill.
