Default 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Radio Swap Problem

I have a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 and I'm trying to swap out the radio. Radio and sound was all working fine but the CD player stopped working. Original Part No. was PO5091198AB with a single CD player. I went to a junkyard and pulled out a used replacement. The new Part No is 05064112AJ. Basically the same Model but the replacement has a 6 CD Changer and a few other little upgrades. The harness matches and plugs in with no problem. However, when I hook it up, I get nothing in the display lighting up. It's as the the on/off button doesn't work but when I insert a CD, it then has a display where it asks me which slot I want to put the CD and it appears the display is working fine, but again, the display shuts off after all the CD stuff is taken care of and I can't control anything else (i.e. - radio or satellite or CD). Is anyone familiar with this problem. I figured both of these units are just plug and play. Is there something I'm missing?

I have a similar problem. I took out a “RES” radio out of my 2007 Sebring and put in a REQ radio from a 2010 Jeep Liberty (I think). The radio and all functions work for about ten seconds, then everything stops although the buttons stay lit for about another 30sec. I understand that if the radio needs to be recoded, it will say so on the display, so I’m stumped too.
