Default 300 problem

Just bought a 2005 Chysler 300, and have a light on my dash on the right side beside the tach...it is a circle in brackets with an exclamation point in the middle. Can anyone tell me what this means...also a chime sounds every so often...I thougth it was the tire pressure sensor light..but that is on the left side apparently. any info would be great. Thanks.

The "brackets" are an icon to represent brake shoes. That is the brake warning light. You might be low on brake fluid or half of your brake system has failed and you are operating with brakes on two wheels only.
This is a serious matter and needs to be attended to immediately, if not sooner.

Default spoke too soon

Well,, Guess what...worked for one day..now the dam light is back on.
When we bought the car, the brakes didn't feel quite right...took it back,,and apparently the emergency brake was seized, and had wore out the back brake pads. At 30,000 kms, and after it was safetied...go figure.
So, I am wondering if it is a more serious problem than first expected. Very very frustrating...did not expect to have these problems with a new car.
