'94 LHS transmission problem

RE: '94 LHS transmission problem
you said it's a 94? It's just getting old... you might want to take it to a transmission repair shop and have them check it for codes. I know most of them down here give you free diagnosis. I had a 97 minivan do the same thing and it could be one of two things, but don't quote me on it. the transmission speed sensor may be having hard time reading, or your computer's going bad. before you replace it though. take the contacts off of the tranny computer and clean the metal with a toothbrush and some rubbing alcohol. That might actually do it. Dealership had me convinced that the only thing wrong could be my computer, and when we took the old one out dad noticed the contacts were dirty, so he cleaned them off and hooked it back up, ran like new! dont let mechanics bully you into buying stuff. I reccomend the "Haynes Repair manual" for your car. Autozone should have it. good luck!
