Hope somebody can help me.....

My check engine light came on and the code reads: P0432 Primary Catalyst Below Threshold, Bank 2.

It has 113k, and probably been neglected a little. Is this type of error always the Catalytic Converter, or could it be a general tune up/too much carbon build up type issue?

 

we are replacing alot of cats right now for some reason and i cannot log in to check the number ya gave i will try later and then again at work. but be ready for bad news and the 2.7 is not easy to change the right one the left is easy but the right takes some bending and some force.

I just go my car out of the shop...... and the light is now out.

They found a tear in the PCV Tube that was the root of the problem in this case. The technician told me it could also be dirty O2 sensors.

I've been driving it for about a week now since the code was reset, and it hasn't returned. They said if it does return, it means the Cat is bad.

He seemed pretty knoledgable. Does this sound accurate to you?

 

yeah i just checked and it sasys the code could mean cat bad exhaust leak upstream of o2 bad gas and engine problems so it sounds right
glad its fixed
