I don't know about the 01 T&C but on my '95 Voyager, the rear wiper and the airbag were on the same circuit. The wiper motor went bad and blew the fuse. This caused the airbag light to come on.
Look in your owners manual and see if there's anything on the same fuse with the airbag. Try replacing the fuse.

You have a fully loaded T&C and you cannot take it in for a proper repair. An air bag can KILL YOU if you don't know what you are doing and clearly you do not know what you are doing. [:'(]

Do you know what the code is for the air bag light and if it stored or active? Most likely I would think that something has an open in it or a connector has a high resistance in it. Definnetly need to know what the code is to go further. Remember before doing any repairs to the system to disconnect the battery and wait two minutes.

He does have one point correct. Air bags are a very important safety feature in a vehicle. They can also cause you physical pain if you happen to be standing or sitting in front of one when it goes off! That is why the Haynes manuals duck the issue. So... Do be careful, and if you are unsure of yourself, get some help.

Also, the codes are important to helping diagnose the problem. If you get access to them, post them here. Without them most ideas are a stab in the dark. Perhaps a well experienced stab in the dark, but nonetheless, a stab in the dark.

dcotter0579 has a good place for you to start. You might also look up a wiring diagram for your vehicle online, tracing the circuits to determine where else too look.
