Alarm triggers briefly after locking the car with the remote control
I own a 2000 Chrysler 300M and I am experiencing some strange issues with my car alarm: about 10 seconds after locking the car with the remote control, the alarm goes off briefly for about 3 seconds.
It does not happen all the time, though. Sometimes it goes well for several days. For example, it went well for weeks without the alarm triggering (since it had some repairs at the dealer's shop). Until I accidentally pressed the lock button just before my passenger closed the door. Since then, the alarm again triggers briefly every time after I lock the car.
Quite annoying, especially when I park the car in a big indoor parking lot/garage.
I assume it might have to do with the remote control itself: sometimes the car does not seem to react to the unlock button and I have to press it multiple times before all doors are unlocked. But I have already tried replacing the batteries and using my spare remote control for a while (also with replaced batteries). With no success; the issue persists even then.
So I was wondering if this behavior might be programmable and I accidentally program/unprogram the car to not only honk upon locking, but also briefly setting off the alarm after about 10 secs. If that is the case, can anybody tell me how to explicitly turn this on and off? I have a remote control with three buttons ("lock", "unlock" and "trunk", but no "panic" button).
