Default bad news from the dealer.

so brought my pt to the dealer to have the powersteering looked at.
$2500.00 to fix it. replacing the pump and both lines. they say there leaking but the levels are fine. the pump at a store is $50.00
my pt I ordered brand new off the internet 9 years ago. waited extra to a stick. 131,000 miles on it. 2001 pt I picked up aug of 2000. so looked at some used cars there and for fun I asked on a trade in . $500.00 for the pt. no way I'll give up my baby for $500.00
the car is clean. the build sheet has my name across the top.
the salesman really wanted to look at my 98 dodge 2500 4x4 360 106000 miles on it. it is clean no rust.

You've gotten almost 9 years of use out of that car and now it needs some TLC. If you still like the car, get it fixed, but since it's driveable, you have many more options than the dealership. Ask around town for trustworthy mechanics and get several estimates. I bet you can get the work done for lots less than $2500.00
