Default Hurricane Ike

We are here in Galveston, TX. We were just flooded by hurricane IKE. When we got
back there was a water line almost up to the window on my 2006 Dodge Stratus. I
changed the trans fluid and oil. Jumped the car and it won't start. The head
lights and trunk lights work fine. When I first turned the key the windshild wipers
came on but no longer. The inside light only comes on when I turn the key to start
the car. Do you think I may need one of those PCM's or ECM's?

Thanks

Default RE: Hurricane Ike

First: If you have insurance, use it for this.

If not: You will likely find out that many of your under-hood items didn't like having a bath in salt water. I would guess that you will eventually end up replacing about 50% of everything under there, and even then the car would not likely be considered "reliable" due to the long term continuation of the salt corrosion. If you can, cut your loss.

If you can't: Start with the electrical peripherals such as the wiring harness connectors, pulling them all, inspecting, cleaning, greasing, etc., then the starter and alternator, distributor, position sensor, etc. It will likely be a long, expensive and arduous process, but it can be done.

I truly wish you the best.
