Default new chrysler owner problems

I recently purchased a 92 new yorker with 47000 miles on it and I am having some electrical issues with the running and dash lights. When I turn the headlights all the way on I have no brake or yellow running lights or dash lights. If I mess with the switch and pull it out till right before the position for the running lights everything works. I just replaced the light switch hoping that would work but to no success. Any help with be appreciated!!!!

You shouldn't have brake lights until you step on the brake pedal.

Not sure what you mean by "yellow running lights". Are you referring to the parking lights? Or the side marker lights?

Are you turning the headlight high beams on using the "flash" feature?

If both switches produce the same result, maybe it's working as designed. Start with the owners manual and make sure you understand the proper way to operate the lights.

If you don't have an owners manual, you might get lucky and find one on eBay. They pop up every once in a while but you need to keep an eye out.

You most certainly should have tail lights illuminated without pushing the brakes while driving at night. And that's what I don't have. The yellow parking lights don't work unless I mess with the switch.

There is no issues with the actual headlights. High beams work fine and so do the blinkers.

You didn't say "tail lights" in your original post, you said "brake lights". They are not the same things. The "flash" feature turns on the high beams without turning on any other lights. You might perceive that as " I have no brake or yellow running lights or dash lights."
I stand by the rest of the post as written.

So now that you have gotten your snide reply in do you have any insightful response to my original question? You know on why I don't have taillights, dash or parking lights, or any chimes for headlights on or doors open?

Only what I have already posted. Have you checked the owners manual?
