Default No Overdrive?

Hi everyone.

well heres me issue: im 17 and newly licensed. i just got a 95' chrysler cirrus cheap from one of my dads buddies. No real problems until tonight. i was on the expressway and the car would not shift into overdrive, when it hit a certain speed the A/c cut out, it shifted into neutral, until it got back around 50-55. this is the first time it has happened, as i have done 70 easily before.
i have no real experience working on cars, but can anyone help me or at least point me in the direction of how i can fix this issue myself? thanks alot!

if the tranny isnt going into overdrive and is slipping out of gear then check the transmission fluid level
next thing i think would be solenoids

Check the transmission fluid. Follow the directions in your owners manual for the proper way to do that. If it's old and brown, it may need changing.

You got the car cheap, now it's time to start spending some money. Begin with a Haynes or Chilton manual pertinent to that car. Consider it tuition in the school of life.
