Default pacifica trans shift issue

I have a 2006 Pacifica 3.5L with 98K miles. Intermittently the transmission will suddenly drop into a low gear. Won't come out until the car is stopped & put in park for a minute. Then it will go on and do fine. Started out doing it every few days. Now it's more often. Check engine light comes on sometimes and sometimes not. Showed a Poo68 code ( MAP sensor Throttle position sensor correlation ) I've replaced both sensors. Any ideas ???

I've been reading through the forum for solutions to issues my '06 Pac is having. I may have run across a possible solution for the problem you are having (posted the link). Though it's not the same codes it could be a place to start if you haven't already.

OK... problem solved. I replaced the throttle position sensor and didn't get it in exactly the right place. It was screwing with the MAP sensor causing the tranny to shift down under certain conditions. My fault... but a tough little problem to find & diagnose.

So it was a busted TPS... How much did you bought the TPS and where?

I bought the TPS at an individually owned parts store. $26.00 But that really wasn't the problem. It seemed like it was gonna do the trick but a few days later it started again. The car's fixed for sure now. It was a bad EGR valve.

Yeah most probably it does costs like 25-30 bucks. You should be replacing that valve with new one if somehow it again causes any issue.
