Default Stuck ignition switch suggestions?

I have a 1979 Chrysler Town & Country station wagon. The ignition switch is stuck in the OFF position. I can get the key to go in but it will not turn. The wheels are aligned. I have tried turning the key while jiggling the wheel back and forth and while ajusting the tilt steering. I have also shot a little lube inside key hole to no avail. Does anyone have any other suggestions? If I have to end up replacing the cylinder do I go to a Dealership or just a locksmith? Thanks in advance for any help with this matter. Ryan

Assuming you have the correct key, I doubt that a locksmith will be of much help. I would also be surprised if the dealer can help. After 31 years, the dealer will probably not be able to get parts any better than you can. Your best hope may be combing junkyards.
Those old locks used to be pretty sloppy, and with patience, you could often get a key to work that was "close" to being the correct key by working it in and out rapidly while trying to turn it. That's only a short term solution to your problem, however.
