Default Timing Chain or Belt

Hi, bought a 1999 voyager this weekend and dealer tells me it's a chain not a cambelt.

Can you tell me how i'd know and what to look. Seems to have a hefty belt but he says this is the steering.

Is a 1999 2499 diesel manual.

Many Thanks

babebard

Timing belts are usually rubber where chains are metal and should last longer. It is a rubber band, and not as good as the ones you find on produce. It is definitely a chain. For replacement interval you'll need to consult a Dealer.

Your Jimmy has a timing chain not a belt. What do you mean by limp? your peddle is all the way on the floor and it's not coming back up? There has to be more to the issue. The gas peddle has nothing to to with the timing chain nor you fuel pump.
