Default tire question

I have a 2000 Town and Country LX that I've had since new. I've always had a tire shop replace my tires when needed.
I decided to shop around for pricing this time. All four of my tires are P215/65R/16 (3 different brands from various replacements)
My driver door says P215/65R/15 and every site says the same. Did they have wrong rims from the factory or do 16 tires fit on 15 rims also.

16 inch tires do NOT fit on 15 inch rims. You have 16 inch rims. You can take your VIN to your local Chrysler dealership and they can give you a listing of all the equipment and options that your car was built with.
