Transmission oil pan GASKET question

Transmission oil pan GASKET question
Does a transmission oil pan gasket need silicone gasket maker? (such as Permatex Ultra Black or Permatex Blue RTV silicone gasket makers)
The gasket is made out of rubber, and it came with the tranmission filter I'll be replacing.
This is for a 95 Chrysler LHS, 3.5L, 148K miles.
Thanks for your help

I like to use a thin coating of Permatex Gasket Sealer/Conditioner. It's a thick gray subtance that not only holds the gasket in place while you put the pan back, but it keeps the original Chrysler gasket from drying out and failing. Good stuff, it never hardens and you can always re-use the gasket.
