Default vibration when cold at 1200rpm 2004--300M

My 2004 300M Chrysler. has a drive belt growl When I take the fan belt off, the noise is not there, I've been told by the dealer that they have replaced the altenator, the belt tightner on other 3.5s with no results. I've checked this myself and the noise comes from the power steering box. however the noise is only there when you pull away or put the brake on and rev the motor up to 1200 rpms The dealer tightened the belt according to a bulletin that came through for 2001, it's was a little better for a while but the growl came back. some intrepid and 300M owners have said they have had this problem and later had to replace the pump. It certainly quitens down when the P.S oil warms up. Why does tightening the belt help for a short time?
I'm puzzled, but concerned because my Warranty runs out in less then a month. any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Os
