Default 06 Pacifica brake caliper piston

I went to replace my brake pads on my 06 Pacifica got the tire off and got the caliper off and realize I had no brake pad on the back and the brake pad braket was rubbing against the rotor anyways so got it all off went to depressed the piston back in place (dual piston caliper) and one of the piston shot out can I put the piston back into the boot and depress it and put new brake pads on or since the piston shot out is it damaged??

you might be able to but you will deff need to bleed the brakes once done.
