2002 Sebring LXi coupe
I bought my 2002 Sebring LXi new in August 2001. It's been a very good car and I really haven't had any problems with it at all other than it likes to go faster than I should go. With the exception of a K&N filter, it's all stock. I autocrossed it a couple of years before retiring it from that (an '82 Mustang GT took over that duty.) I always suspected that it would be a pretty good road course car, and last night I took it to Road Warriors at Heartland Park Topeka and found out what it could do (it did quite well.) I plan on doing some minor mods to help it run quicker on the road course.

Well.... I haven't completely stepped away from Ford..
I autocross the Mustang, but I think the Chrysler is probably faster. The biggest difference is that the Chrysler has a ton of understeer. I just wore out tires. The Mustang is a lot more fun on that type of course and is a whole lot easier on the rubber. Even though this is the second season I've run the Mustang, I'm still known for the Sebring.
When it came time to road race, there was no question which one was going. The Sebring has a lot more brakes, has more power above 40 mph, and will corner better on that type of corner. As it was, I started getting brake fade towards the end of the night. The puny brakes on the Mustang definitely wouldn't have been up to it.
It's kind of bad when your street car is faster than your race car
