2015 Chrysler 300 Cylinder #1
#2
Cylinder # 1 is the cylinder closest to the front of the engine. The "front" of the engine is where the belts are. In your case, the "front" of the engine is at the front of the car. Front wheel drive cars have the engine turned sideways so the "front" of the engine on one of those vehicle faces to the right of the car. (I'm putting this in here because people with front-wheel drive cars will be reading this.)
If you look at your engine you will see that the cylinders (located by the position of the spark plugs) are staggered a little bit and are not directly across from the corresponding one on the opposite bank. That's how you locate the cylinder closest to the front of the engine. Chrysler builds its V shaped engines with cylinder #1 on the right bank. Because it contains cylinder #1, it is called "bank 1".
