My backup sensor will only detect someone/something (while backing up) to a max distance of 1.5 to 2 feet. I took it into the dealer (its still under warranty) and they said that was satisfactory. Does anyone know what the actual backup sensitivity should be?

My daughter recently bought a Ford Edge and the backup sensitivity extends to 8 feet. This seems a bit more realistic to me.
