Have 06 Chrysler sebring and my battery light is coming on while i drive. Alternator is fairly new. Battery is new. Not sure what the problem could be. Need help. Local mechanic who knows what he is doing. Mpls

 

Is the battery lamp on when you first start the engine or does it come on after driving a bit? Does it turn on/off while driving or once on it stays on?

The battery lamp typically notes an issue with the charging system. If the lamp is on there should be a dtc (diagnostic trouble code) set. A good hand-held scanner would be able to pull the code(s).

What is the engine running voltage? Should be 14.2 volts to 14.4 volts give or take. Is the alternator new or a rebuild? I have had rebuilds fail in under a year.
