Default Engine Swap

I have a 2001 Chrysler 300m, really clean car and in really good shape but the motor is no good has a rod bearing spun. I have a 2001 Dodge Intrepid which has a rebuilt 2.7 in it, was wondering if I can put the 2.7 in place of the 3.5, any help would be appreciated.

Rather unusual but yes it can be done. Typically Intrepid owners swap 2.7's up to 3.5's but understanding your desire to save your M it may make sense. Best help I can give is: DodgeIntrepid.Net
Dan/Daytrepper actually wrote up a guide to swap a 2.7 to a 3.5 so reverse his process to go the other way. Also another guy there "Peva" swapped his 3.2 (same as 3.5 except piston size) for a good 2.7 in a Concord for similar reasons as yours.
Look around over at that site for good guidance.
