gearbox problems, 3.3 auto
My mother has bought a 2001 3.3 v6 automatic chrysler grand voyeger LPG, and after driving it myself I think it is stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear! as i cannot hear a gear change and its up on 4000rpm at 50mph? I have been told that the problem might be a sensor,(a friend in the motor trade) The car was taken to a garage by my elderly mother, Garage said the gearbox was u/s and needs replacing. can any one confirm this before my mother goes out and spends a small fortune on a new gearbox Thanks to anyone who can help?

Chrysler voyager 2001 3.3 auto.new sensors.
put in new input/output sensors this week. still in limp mode?.
OBD11 codes p0700, p0605, p01684. think i know what these codes mean?.
checked, removed shift solenoid was told this is ok and working fine.
so looking towards TCM next???
is ATF4 the only g/box oil that can be used on these?
Garaged replaced but can they be trusted?.lol.
thanks for looking...... Gaz.

That P0700 code means that there is one or more transmission fault code(s) stored in the computer. You will need a good code reader that is capable of extracting transmission codes to get to them. The "key dance" won't do it, nor will a basic code reader.
Before you start throwing expensive parts at this thing, get the fault codes. That's what they are there for.
Yes, ATF4 is the only proper transmission fluid. Anything else will cause problems. Automatic transmissions are designed around the properties of the fluid.
If the wrong fluid is in there, your are going to have to get it all out. Dropping the pan will only get about half or less out.

I have removed the TCM, pulled out most of the jelly stuff inside (anyone know what this is?) I have found a fault in one of the transistors. so my next job is to source a replacement and solder it in. ill keep this updated until i have sorted the problem !

problem with automatic transmission
Hi...I have bought a Chrysler Grand Voyager 3.3 V6 from 1996 with a problem in the automatic transmission. I can only drive in 1º and 2º gear...I have read that the problem could be the speed sensor and the solenoide. Can someone tell me what can I do because I have checked both by a tester and it seems to be the correct values.
