grand voyager 2.8 lx crd cutting out
hello guys ok i bought this car about a month ago, it run ok for the last three weeks went out yesterday after driving it home from work for about thirty miles, and it cut out whilst accelerating without warning, i pulled over tried to start and initially it started and then cut out, had a look for all the obvious poked about under bonnet at the wires form the battery and the injectors and underneath the battery housing at first made no difference and a few minutes later got the car started. went out today again started ok drove about half a mile and it cut out again no warning it is a 2.8 diesel and its automatic so its not so handy when it cuts out. its been sitting outside the house running now for half an hour no problem very frustrating, can anyone help? before i start throwing money at it?

To be honest i have no idea what or when anything has been done to it as iv only had it a month and had no contact with the previous owner. I opened the water trap on the bottom of the filter and fuel came out ok but i then i flattened the battery trying to get it started. Jump start and its been running now for about half an hour but iv not driven it yet for fear of stoppin when driving

The fact that it can idle indefinitely but stalls when you try to drive it sounds like a classic plugged fuel filter problem. The filter is able to allow a little flow but when demand is greater, it just can't keep up. If it sits for a while, some more fuel seeps through and it'll run a bit.
Try installing a new fuel filter and see if that helps. Won't cost much, can't hurt.
