First I would say you should post your question only once in the correct section. Posting the same question in multiple locations is often frowned upon. Especially all at the same time. The new member section is for introductions. Saying hello, telling members about yourself and what you have. Not asking questions on how to fix something. Your question should of only been asked once in the PT Cruiser section as this is the most relevant section for your question as it is specific to your model.

Second, you need to give it some time for someone who may be familiar with your issue to give you an answer. It's not like this is a 24/7 customer service help line. The ones who are viewing your question simply may not know the answer.

As for your issue. Although I do not have a PT Cruiser and have never worked on one, I would say if you weren't having the problem before the shifter & cable was replaced, it was probably installed incorrectly. Probably has an alignment issue that needs to be adjusted. If the shifter is not going fully in to park, the key is not going to be released. Their may even be a second cable alignment for the key. Have your "person" double check their work or take it to someone who knows what they are doing to do it right the first time.
