Default Newbie 2007 cruiser

Hi all a newbie here. Need some help with a 2007 pt cruiser convertible. Guess I like challenges. Got a 2007 cruiser DOA. Seems an engine was replaced used, guy said couldn't remove engine and wiring harness was cut ( hear me out before jumping to conclusions) this guy assured me he had an automotive professional reconnect harness properly and securely. Car ran for two months after engine swap then sat fer a bit, then wouldn't start, would crank but no start.
I'm figurin this TIPM is the issue but not entirely sure (lots of information about it but not specific enough to hopefully bypass potential fuel pump relay issue) to get fuel to crank n fire with. I've gotten as far as engine will crank shorting starter at solenoid and fire on ether so I know I have spark when fuel is there. No furl at fuel line when turning key on or cranking. Seems to have sketchy no no crank at key. Everything else seems to work except rear trunk release electrically and OBD port has power but shows link error.
help desperately needed. I have investigative ability and some knowledge so am not totally ignorant.
I suspect this often problematic TIPM which basically controls everything. Main question can this fuel pump relay be bypassed at the tipm to get engine to fire n run? Which fuse or related fuse to jump from and to?

The no coms with the pcm is where I would start with make sure powers and ground present at the pcm if they are good and if your scanner can ir csnt not talk to other computers? If it can then you have a pcm issue

Thanks, I'll check that out. My scanner is a Bosch CodeConnect so isn't a real cheapie but not elaborate either. I bought this car DOA. Think the previous owner if he had any knowledge at all either gave up on it or didn't want to spend more money on it.
since gettin it home I've discovered
1) engine cranks at key very weakly then sounds like the starter is failing then nothing (if I jump with a wire across positive terminal on starter with solenoid cranks very nicely and actually quite normal.
2) headlights and figs lights inoperative, have all other lights, signals, radio, power convertible top etc. I'll have to check continuity on headlights and find as well as bulbs.
3) no fuel coming to fuel line when key is turned to the run position or cranking, no sound of fuel pump either. Still have to verify with direct voltage to fuel pump that it does work.
4) engine fires while key on and cranking with jumper wire using other so I know I have spark.
All this is leading me to suspect the TIPM components failing namely this problematic internal fuel relay among any other components affecting headlights and starting circuit.

Verify all of the repaired harness connections are secure and corrosion free. Verify all of the ground straps are in place and secure.

My opinion, anyone that would cut the wiring harness to remove the engine would not likely hire an 'automotive professional' to properly reconnect the harness. In the same vein, what other shortcuts (pun intended) were done installing the engine?

Default Doa pt cruiser

Well I've read all reply posts so far. I understand all intents and ty.
what I guess I need right now I'd wiring information as in pin and color of wires at fuel pump connector (seems there are two connectors there 1 for leak detection device and the other wiring harness to fuel pump. I need to know the color of wired which I can connect 12v and grd direct to fuel pump to determine if it actually works independently of TIPM. This should verify that the pump works. Is there any way to bypass this internal fuel pump relay at the TIPM?
I find there are companies that repair TIPMS substantially cheaper than TIPM's from dealer.
