That letter was prior to NHTSA releasing the recall it is a full-blown recall because the letter you posted shows a remedy not available while the actual, recalling NHTSA has a remedy. That letter was almost a year ago.
I’ve done all the research on this Recall and spoke with Stellantis corporate directly. You can read how this issue was established below. They say no units were installed during manufacturing. My vechicle was.
Bottom line - if your HCU has never been serviced by a dealer it would not have the defective part and he recall does not affect you. If the dealer had serviced the HCU and replaced the part in question you are affected by the recall (and yes, the dealer would have noted the replacement part on the service order and would be in the FCA database).
Note the wording in the notice you posted, 'some of the following vehicles'. FCA determined that your vehicle did not have the defective replacement part installed by a dealer.
Sigh!!! Goose, THE RECALL LISTS THE DEFECTICE PART BY THE MANUFACTURER CODE STAMPED ON IT. My VECHICLE IS STAMPED WITH THAT DEFECTIVE PART . What don’t you UNDERSTAND???? Dealers and VIN Numbers have nothing to do with this specific issue. I’ve showed you all the facts.
if you bought a package of meat that was recalled, and the recall was specified by the date on the package, then you would obviously think it was defective. Same has to do with my HCU unit.
Actually you have ignored the facts. You circled the FCA statement noting the extent of the recall and defective replacement part. The reason you have not have had any success in getting your HCU replaced is that the recall does not affect your vehicle.
Look at yours second circle read it real close no ill say it for you.
This recall is estimated to launch in 2nd Quarter of 2023. We ask that you please take the time to ensure that your personnel are aware of this communication and are prepared to execute a customer friendly process for inquiries regarding involved vehicles.
in Layman's terms its has not yet started thus why no dealer has this recall info yet also why FCA itself has no info BECAUSUE IT HAS NOT BEEN UPGRADED TO A FULL RECALL YET
Why is it like beating a dead horse! Like I said, that letter, which is circled, was issued before NHTSA release the recall there wasn’t a remedy for that letter. There is a remedy now because there’s an actual fully launched recall.
it’s a parts recall! Stellantis has claimed to have replaced all the defective ones and pulled all the defective ones out of inventory. Mine was manufactured with it I’m not speculating I’ve gone through recall department and Stellantis corporate.
