Default engine codes

Hi all, I'm new here. comin' at ya from down south Mexico way, but originally from the midwest. Here's my question. I am thinking about buying a 1970 Dodge Monaco 4 door sedan. Real nice shape, original motor. No idea which motor this is, only that it's a V8 with a very wide valley between the heads, and that the heads thmselves aren't very wide. Carb is a Carter Thermoquad. Motor code on inside of door is TO 12375. VIN is (I think) 1774118. I'm hoping it's a 383 or a 440? What else was available that year? Possible a 340? But I remember from my youth that these were considerably smaller in dimension, right? Too early for it to be a 400 or 360 right? I aploogize, but I've been living in AMC land for quite some time. I currently own 2 Ramblers, a 65 and a 66, and recently sold my 76 CJ7. I felt that it was time for a little muscle! Thanks in advance for any help that you can give! Rob
