Default Chrysler Concorde paint

Hi,
I recently purchased a 1994 Chrysler Concorde for my teenage son (he paid half!) it's in OK shape--he bought it from a friend. Unfortunately this friends former girlfriend wasn't too bright & painted some love message on the hood & he removed it somehow--as you can see in the photo. The color is Emerald Green and am including a photo of the car for a better view.
The question is how to get rid of this. Frankly $$ is extremely tight & my son is paying for this so it's like do it yourself touchup-- maybe with spray paint or? Obviously it's not going to match that great but anything will look better.
Any suggestions appreciated regarding possibly getting a larger can of paint possibly vs. a spray can, and what other preparations need to be used i.e. clear coat etc. Any help appreciated..thanks.

Looks like nail polish and remover.

sand and prime.

Leave it as a reminder for a while.
