2009 Town and Country van
Fuel pump not working, no voltage at the pump. Replaced the TIPM with a used one, there is voltage at the correct fuse, any idea why I'm not getting voltage to the pump? (there is voltage to the sending unit)
The fuel pump relay is in the fuse box under the hood also referred to as a TIPM....I bought a couple of devices from Vertical Visions to bypass the relay, it seemed to work at first, this problem has been intermittent for a few months now, but the van will not start at all now...also I replaced the TIPM with another one I bought at a salvage yard but it didn't make any difference...one of the devices from vertical visions is this small circuit board looking device I paid 99 bucks for, it has a green light that indicated that there is electric being sent to the pump, but I have never checked the fuse there with a test light....if turning on the key sends power to the pump for a second or 2 then I wonder why I don't see any power? Perhaps the time it takes to go from the ignition switch back to the pump is too long and the relay shuts off the power?
im aware about the tipm some have an external relay some are internal thats why i asked. If you want to check for the power at the fuel pump you deff will need two people to test it.
Get to the connector with a volt meter power probe or test light have some one tur the key on and see if the wires light up one will be ground one power and the other 2 are for the sending unit. See which one you are missing

Today I looked into the TIPM again, had my wife turn the keys on and off, no voltage at the pump fuse even when cranking,,,,so I plugged in the vertical visions jumper to a spot (fuse) that had power (M21) it had a relay that behaved like the pump relay..(ASD#3)...but the van would not start....but I did not pull the connector off the pump and check voltage there...and I quit for the day.....
Previously when I checked power at the pump, there was voltage present for the fuel gauge (smaller wires) but no voltage for the pump.......nothing makes sense yet.....tomorrow I will check for voltage once again at the pump with my jumper at the TIPM still connected to M21....the pump is a Delphi I bought from Rockauto about a year ago...once I check at the pump again I'll let you know what I find

Yes no power at M25....today I believe I've solved the issue...not only was the fuel relay not working, but today I checked at the pump, and with my vertical visions jumper hooked up, power to the fuel pump, the pump is dead..so that fact that I was having intermittent running issues could have been either the relay or the pump at times, making it confusing, so now I'm going to check with Rockauto and see if my Delphi pump is still under warranty, and if so wait for them to send me another one..once I have the replacement pump installed I can decide what to do about the failed fuel relay, I want to thank you for your help, very much appreciated...Mr. Behn
