Angry 2000 Cirrus diesel at shutdown

I have a 2000 Cirrus with a 2.4L four cylinder engine. The car diesel for up to two minutes when I turn off the key and even when I remove it. It is difficult to restart (can take up to an hour). When I do get it started it runs fine until I try to shut the engine off. I get codes P1489 and P1490. No one seems to think the relays are bad. My so called mechanic checked the relays and thinks it is a bad PCM. The guys at Advance Auto though it was a bad fuel pump relay. Both were replaced but the problem continues. I have heard that bad camshaft position sensors and/or crankshaft positions sensors can cause this problem. I am running out of patience and money. I need help!

Try this....

Next time you drive it.....Shut it off in gear...and see if it still runs on.

Typically....The cylinders get too hot, and ignite the residual fuel. Since there is no acTual fire from the spark plugs, The cylinder heat causes the residual fuel to burn "OUT OF TIME" ....

Leaking injector, Poor fuel quality, timing belt or chain skipped, BAd fuel pressure regulator, the list goes on and on

In the immortal words of "THE CAT IN THE HAT"...The way to find a missing something is to find out where it is NOT...

1489 and 1490 are both Fan control circuit codes......Which is the first place to look. You are obviously running too hot......But do the fans work?????
