Default RE: P0305 Misfire - 301 misfire cirrus

FOR GENERAL POSTING
Seems Like there is a 100th monkey syndrome here - I own 1996 Cirrus - 2.4L 4 cylinder. 145,000mi. I am having similar problems as 1dakota1 and Jparr etc.

DTC code P0301 = Cylinder #1 misfire.
Check engine flash codes = 124355. (need to find the definitions)

Started as a 'bucking' while driving highway, especially up inclines (50mph). Now, also rough idlying especially when cold. Check engine light went on after going up hill with full load of passengers and car would barely make it up (any gear) - lots of misfiring i guess.

Checked spark plugs and they were clean.

Thought it may be dirty injectors especially since using cheaper gas/ethanol. Used 2 tank fulls with Techron cleaner without result.

Fuel Pump changed last year. Thougt it maybe trans - but seems ok.
Timing belt changed this year.

Suggestion was made to pull fuel rail to check injector flow. Any other suggestions? what are the possible problems? Would DTC mean spark plug fried?
I thank you for your help and expertise. Not sure what is best - general post or ???? please forgive double postings - Thanks! Happy Ne Year!
