So basically not worth the trouble? I'm paying someone to put the new motor in and found the g for $550 less than the k. With all the extra work, id probably b paying that in labor, id assume?

I'm new to this thread so thanks for help. I'm not doing the work myself, I'm paying someone to do it. The vin g engine is $550 cheaper than the vin k one but with all the extra work, I might as well pay the extra $ on the engine, if ill b paying it in labor anyway?

Most likely labor would eat up some of the savings.
Be sure to replace the timing belt & water pump on the engine going into your Special.

Why would a salvage yard ask me the 8th letter of the VIN if they already asked year and make/model? Would I have to have same year and make/model of engine for it to be compatible? What other engines could I look for? Does the "special" make a big difference on the motor?

Look at your PCM...two big white plugs, or 4 small black plugs????
