My 2001 LHS has an intermittent problem where it will turn the lights on and off. This has happened while driving in daylight when they should not be coming on and while the car is parked. In the middle of the night, while the car is parked, the lights will go on and off at times. This is when the headlight selector is in the AUTO position. Any ideas or fixes?

 

I am having the same problem, did you find a fix?

 

most likely a bad switch...also could be the "solar" sensor, but i would bet on the switch

 

i hear a flickering sound in the dash as well when it happens, like a relay flipping. so i believe it is probly a bad switch.

 

Wfoo, No I have not found a fix. I suspect that the problem is from a defect in the Body Control Module. I am looking for someone who has had this problem and knows the cause.

 

have you tried replacing the switch? i will be changing mines today, and i will tell you if it fixes my problem.

 

No, I have not replaced anything as yet. I have another problem that I believe is also caused by a bad Body Control Module. See my posting on the other problem at

my problem was fixed by replacing the switch, thanks alot for the input from all, i am extremely greatful.

 

Thanks for the info. I would not have thought it was the switch, just shows what I know.
