Default 2002 300m check engine light and trans issues

Hey so I've never encountered any issues with my 2002 300m until the other day. I got a oil change at pennzoil and half an hr later of driving check engine light comes on my rpms are going high I seem to be stuck in second gear i'd say I put my shifter down into the tiptronic and theres boxes over everything p,r,d,1,2,3,4 I pull over shut the car off look under the hood and cant find any fluids or anythings out of norm. I start the car back up and it drives fine again but the check engine light is still here. I return home immediately and hook up my scanner i get the p700 & p1776 codes now ive read about the input output sensors going but does that sound like it would solve my issues to replace those or is it much more serious then that . this car shifts perfectly the transmission seems tight and strong just this freak occurance happend scared the hell out of me and left me with a cel I know its going to happen again but what do i fix is my question?

Symptom:
P1776-SOLENOID SWITCH VALVE LATCHED IN LR POSITION
When Monitored and Set Condition:
P1776-SOLENOID SWITCH VALVE LATCHED IN LR POSITION
When Monitored: Continuously when doing partial or full EMCC (PEMCC or FEMCC).
Set Condition: If the PCM senses the L/R Pressure Switch closing while performing
PEMCC or FEMCC. This DTC will be set after two unsuccessful attempts to perform
PEMCC or FEMCC.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
RELATED DTC P0841 PRESENT
INTERMITTENT OPERATION
TRANSMISSION CONTROL RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
L/R PRESSURE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN
L/R PRESSURE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
L/R PRESSURE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE
INTERNAL TRANSMISSION PROBLEM - SSV STUCK
PCM - L/R PRESSURE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT

From My experiences.....Probably Not....

Replacing the solenoid only fixes 1/3 of the issue, Replacing the valve body fixes another third, and the final piece of the puzzle is the actual root cause of the problem.

In short, Your Torque converter is coming apart Internally, and a Rebuild is probably in order.

I have not seen the 1776 from the converter coming apart the 740 yeah I had the 1776 about 3 years ago put a new sol pack in and away we go. But like everything not everything U hear or see is always the prob have some one look at it for you.

Now i'm extremely confused the transmission shifts smooth like butter and shows no sign of coming apart, but you are saying i need to rebuild the whole tranny and not switch out the solenoid pack? Have other people had this issue and ever resolved it by simply fixing what the code says is failing or is this a completely failure and a tranny rebuild is in order ? Please looking for the truth but also reassurance before i start throwing money at a sol pack to find out the whole tranny needs rebuilding and the previous money was wasted

Ok....

My logic....SSV sticks in its bore due to debris. Changing the Valvebody will cure it, changing the sol pak would probably help it, but it doesnt address how the debris got there in the first place. Since the fluid that passes back and forth thru SSv isnt filtered between converter lock up cycles, It just slushes all that junk back and forth until a repeat failure occurs.

Since SSv is responsible for Converter Clutch engagement, You would probably not notice any change in how the trans shifts.

Ultimately CT is correct....How much debris is in SSV and the feasibility of Not replacing the Converter would be at the discretion of the Person looking at it.

I am having pretty much the same problem except my transmission slips when decelerating and then won't shift out of first. One of the codes is the P1776
